The last two weeks have been incredibly difficult, particularly for African American and Black students and families in our community. As we attempt to personally process the horrific outcomes of a longstanding history of racism in our country, we, as parents and educators are also grappling with how to help our children make sense of what is happening. My inbox has been flooded this week with resources to help - a good problem - but it can be overwhelming to sort through these. Today I am sharing a webinar hosted by Common Sense Media along with two additional resources shared during that discussion. As always, if you have concerns about how your child is doing, please reach out for additional support from me. Take good care.
Please join child development, children's health, and trauma-care experts to talk about ways families can support their children, one another, and a just future.
It starts with checking in on yourself, and then listening deeply.
Common Sense Media has gathered together all their articles and lists of media recommendations to help parents, educators, and others spark important conversations.
