Today's post focuses on parents and adult caregivers. If we are not practicing self-care, it's going to be that much harder to provide our children with the love and care they need to thrive. I'm thinking a lot this week about how to best manage the stress of uncertainty which at times can feel all-consuming. With this in mind, I'm sharing a NPR story which you can listen to (or read) called Advice for Dealing with Uncertainty - From People Who Have Been There.

While on the topic of stress, I also want to share a great resource called Washington Listens. Washington Listens provides support to people who feel sad, anxious, or stressed due to the events of this year including COVID-19 and the wildfires. Any Washington resident can access a support specialist who will listen and help you cope with the stress of 2020. They can provide information to local resources and additional support, based on needs you may have.

As always, please let me know if you have concerns about your child. I'm here to help. Reach me by e-mail at arreid@seattleschools.org or leave a message for me at (206) 252-1535. You can also check out the North Beach Counseling Website at:https://arreid7.wixsite.com/nbcc.

Take good care.
